International commercial relations are often accompanied by disagreements and disputes requiring professional legal intervention. Our international team encountered an exceptionally engaging and complex case, representing a Russian company in a dispute with leading yacht company FRASER, based in the Principality of Monaco. The core of the dispute concerned contracts for the purchase of two luxury yachts with a combined value of €10,000,000.

The task was far from straightforward: it was necessary to protect our client's interests, minimise financial losses, and at the same time preserve the business relationship between the parties in good standing. During negotiations, we had two primary objectives: reaching a settlement agreement that would satisfy both parties' interests, and avoiding a lengthy and exhausting arbitration proceedings.

The negotiation process was demanding and required not only legal expertise but also the ability to establish a constructive dialogue between the parties. We pursued a strategy aimed at identifying the key issues in dispute and finding optimal compromise solutions acceptable to both sides.

Particular attention was paid to the details of the yacht charter contracts, as well as to analysing the possible legal consequences for both companies in the event that the arbitration proceedings continued. Given the international nature of the case, it was also necessary to take into account the different legal systems and practices involved.

In the end, thanks to the professionalism and skill of our team, and to the willingness of both parties to engage in dialogue, we succeeded in reaching a settlement agreement that satisfied the key interests of both our client and FRASER. This agreement made it possible to avoid further legal costs and adverse public attention, while preserving and strengthening the business relationship between the parties.
